and I had NO Experience at ALL!

One of a few instances of interview advice.

YOU should say you are bringing your ENERGY, FOCUS and DRIVE to an organization that you beleive will be very able to use and benefit by it.

That is what I told the manageing partner when I interviewed, and I had NO Experience at ALL!

It is a VERY dumb question, but when you are Looking for a job, you have to put up with alot of this type of stuff, b/c these are really CANNED questions from HR. FOOEY ON HR! FOOEY!!!

You should always buy now because the present value of money is not that much, especially given the zero rate of interest paid out by banks. It will be better to have the tickets in hand now than to wait and risk getting frozen out or worse, getting the seats by the honey can.

I can not go, b/c I live in New York!

Silicon Valley Corporettes!

We’ll meet-up at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 24th at the Cantor Center on the Stanford Campus in Palo Alto for a free docent-led tour of the Rodin Sculptures. After the tour (12:30pm, maybe? I wasn’t able to contact anyone at the Center for a time), we’ll meet-up at the Cool Cafe for a light lunch/coffee. I’ll plan to hang out until at least 2pm for stragglers.

Good ridance, but I have my FATHER do my taxes.

I used to have ALAN do my taxes, b/c it was to complicaed for me, but NOW I do NOT have him any more. Good ridance, but I have my FATHER do my taxes.

I just give him my papers and he PUTS it in to TURBO-TAX on his Computer.

Then he print’s it out and I sign it and that is that. FOOEY on Alan. I do not need him after all.

Am I at risk, Kat?

I appreciate this one because it seems to imply that Kat is, like, the administrator of the internet. What, is she going to pull Ellen's file on ZAPPOS and check to see if there's been any breach in her credit card info? And then get on the thread to let Ellen know what she found?

I would use my first name, then my Initial, if I had one, then my last name. If you eventuaelly get MARRIED, then you can think if you have enough of a repuetation to KEEP your original name. If your man has an unusuesual name, like My Alan did, I would NOT switch. Make sense?

Now what about zappos? I bought shoes ON-LINE. Am I at risk, Kat?

Gosh, I can NOT make March 17.

Endlessly fascinating that Ellen makes a point of responding to almost all of the meet-up posts, even when, as here, it's for California. To my knowledge, there's never even been any serious proposal of a NYC meetup, and I always wonder if it's because the anticipation/letdown would just be too much.
