I had this big galoop

Thank's, PHX, you make an astute point. I wonder how different Ellen's online narrative would be today if she was a fed...

This is a good idea — that is to stand up when you are intervieweing on the phone. It also is NOT a bad idea when you are interviewing in Person if the guy intervieweing you is taller then you and standing b/c you do NOT want him to be lookeing down your blouse. FOOEY!
That is why when I interviewed at the Department of the INTERIOR, I had this big galoop — about 6 foot 6, ask me alot of question’s but he was standing up and walkening around the office when he was interviewing me. A bunch of times he walked behind me and was peekeing down my blouse (which was NOT very open to begin with), so when he would NOT sit down, I got up myself and went to the window and asked about the buildeing and wehether there were lawyer’s office’s that looked out to the OUTSIDE of the mall, not just to another window. He thought about it but did NOT answer me. You will NOT have that probelem if you are interviewing over the phone, but it is still a good idea. YAY!!
  • Ellen – it *was* the Department of the INTERIOR, so I would not have expected windows to look to the OUTSIDE of the mall.

He know’s how to look thing’s up on WESTLAW!

For the third time now, I implore Ellen to give the new associate a name. AhEM!

Apart from some evidently useful advice, this post also provides us better info on law professor's who pursued Ellen romantically. I had always known there was one, (and remember that assistant dean too) but now we know for sure there was at least one more. Accordingly I imagine we could be looking at 5-6 faculty who were interested at the time, with the remaining two who still call being the only ones who have her current contact information or otherwise have not given up/married the next voluptuous, scraggley blond D+ student who came along.

Yay! The new guy actualy got something right in the office. He know’s how to look thing’s up on WESTLAW! That’s alot better then the manageing partner who does NOT even like to touch the computer’s! FOOEY!
As to the OP, If you are in DC, why dont you have him look into workeing for the GOVERMENT? There are alot of position’s where he can manage other thing’s like loading dock’s or peeople who work on Capital Hill need logistic’s manager’s. If you know peeople on the hill, give them his resume, and do NOT forget that he could alway’s ask to work near you, as an office mainteneance manager or supervisor. I miss DC, tho not the guy’s who always hit on me there. FOOEY on them. I still get call’s from 2 law school professor’s who wanted to date me even tho they were 30+ year’s older then me. DOUBEL FOOEY!
  • Ellen’s advice is actually really good.. there are lots of logistics and operations positions on the hill and for various agencies. ;o)

terible internet conectivity

Confirmed: "the new guy" is Ellen's new associate. And, probelems with MP's de facto autocracy (due to the voting weights) continue.

Hug’s to you. Unfortuneately, I NEVER can work from home b/c we have terible internet conectivity, which MIGHT change when we move to new office’s soon. Right now, I have to do things thru my MACBOOK AIR b/c no one has laptops. FOOEY! When we move to the new place, the manageing partner said we will all be getting new laptops which he wants us to take home at night and work remotely. He also has purchased a WIRELESS ROOTER for the office that he will allow us to access REMOTELY! YAY if it works. The one we have NOW is NOT very useful for my Apple machine, and often cut’s me off. DOUBEL FOOEY!
I also have to go to court and the manageing partner let’s me use my iphone, but starting Feburuary 1, I will be geting a BLACKBERRY and must use it. He outvoted me and 2 other partner’s that agreed with me that I should be abel to use my iphone, but b/c he has a supermajority vote, what the manageing partner wants NO ONE CAN OVERRULE. TRIPEL FOOEY!
The judge like’s the new guy and told him he would marry me if he were 30 year’s younger, and told him to date me. FOOEY, b/c I would NEVER date a guy I was workeing with. Dad agree’s! YAY!!!!

getting the wrong Idea

The "new guy" mentioned in Paragraph 2 below is presumably the new associate reporting to Ellen. If you ask me, he needs a name, but she may be struggling because so many male names are already taken in this particular story.

Meanwhile, Jim is trying to get back onstage? The only reason I can imageine is that he knows Ellen just made partner and that sweetens the prospect just enough for him to try one more time. He does need to think about his retirement sooner rather than later.

This color block is really pretty, but DAD says NO more clotheing for me until Spring! FOOEY! I will show ROSA b/c Ed does NOT bar Rosa from buyeing clotheing that she like’s and she is very svelte and would look good in this.
I am heading to court soon with the new guy. Lynn called the judges’ chamber’s and the judge said he would meet with us after calendar call. YAY!
Sam texted me and said he would like to take me out to lunch this week. I worry that he is getting the wrong Idea, but I found out dad called him to encourage him to date me. Talk about treating me like a child. I am old enough to know who I should date and who I should NOT. FOOEY!
Jim also wants for some reason to date me now. He was the guy who gave me a baseball hat that I gave to Rosa to give to the kids. I cannot think of him as a romantic partner. FOOEY!

That is why we all get MARRIED.

Yay! Splurge Monday’s! I love Channel and this Jacket, but my dad has FORBID me to spend on any new clotheing without his approveal, b/c I gave away the puffey down jacket they bought for me last year w/o telling him, even tho it was for a GOOD CAUSE (NY CARES).
As for the OP, Marriage is NOT an economic decision. I agree that there are some thing’s economic that may be better if you are NOT married, but you must look at it as a COMITMENT of 2 peeople to each other, and to have sex and children w/o any limitation’s that would be there if you were NOT married. That is why we all get MARRIED.
Unfortuneately Divorce happen’s even if we do NOT think about it or ignore it up front. If you have any reservation’s about the guy, do NOT marry him.
I posted late over the weekend about staying with a guy who does NOT want to work or even look for a job. Mom confirmed that there are MEN in her neigborhood that loaf and troll around for housewife’s to have sex with while their spouse’s are out bringing home the paycheck. FOOEY!
Do NOT marry a guy who does NOT want to work. That guy is a looser, and you do NOT want for him to be MR MOM, b/c he will be lookeing for unhappy housewife’s to have sex with. DOUBEL FOOEY ON MEN LIKE THAT!
If you realy love the guy, marry him but ONLEY if he will be an EQUAL PARTNER! YAY!!!!

the lousey thing’s you said are goieng on

In a later post, Ellen alerted me/us that this had gone up late over the weekend. Thank's! Not much new here except from alter-ego Vera. In this instance she decided to share something about her mother's fall from virtue. Indeed, because this was her mom I wonder if Vera herself was the product of this neighborhood tryst? The Sunshine Girls may be abel to fill in the blanks on that...

This is kind of what I think. I had this situeation with Alan, but we were NOT married. He realized all of a sudden once he lost his job that he could JUST move in with me and let me suport him and his drinkeing and all he had to do is have sex with me and that would make it all better. But I am alot smarter then that. I knew that I could NOT go on with a drunk, even if onley as a boyfreind, and I CERTAINLEY could NEVER marry a drunk.
So it was easier for me to show him the door, even tho I am a soft person at heart. I knew that I could never live with a person who wanted ME to do all the work, espeacialy after we had kid’s. I should bear the children, do the work, shoppeing and pay all of the bills? FOOEY on that! That is where you are, and I did NOT read anything that even HINTS and the sex makeing up for the rest of the lousey thing’s you said are goieng on. So I say JUST SAY FOOEY AND MOVE ON!
No one will be upset if you do that. The alternative is that you go for 10 more years with a guy who may also wind up cheateing on you b/c you will be out workeing all day, and there will be other women willing to give him sex b/c you are not. Do not go there. Cut your losse’s and RUN if the doosh does not get a job within a month. Show him my advise and tell him that this is the ROUTE your goieng to take, and take it. YAY!!!!!!
  • Men who rely on women for support and have all day off to lounge will not hesitate to poke a local woman in need of a mans attention. This is what happened to my mom.

kid’s who Grandma Leyeh will be able to make latkey’s for

Yay! Open thread’s! I love open threads! And this clutch is cute, but NOT very practiceal for me.
As for the OP, I do NOT think that if you are not dateing seriously (or even PRE-engaged in college) that it is cheateing if you kiss or make out with another guy. After all, you are NOT, at that point comitted, even if later you do wind up marrying him. It is great if you later MARRY him, but you should NOT tell what you were doeing long before hand b/c it will only cause troubel. FOOEY!
Now after you are out of college and you are seriously dateing (and haveing sex, even if not full sex), then if your guy start’s fooleing around with another woman, it is bad new’s and you should dump him. Also, if you should later marry him, you will first have to determine where and with who he has been (mentally, as well as physically). That is why I will insist on a full STD test before I ever go to bed with a new guy, b/c who knows where his winkie has been. DOUBEL FOOEY if he want’s me to do anything with a diseased winkie.
This weekend, I have to get all of my paper’s together so that dad can do my tax return’s with the accountant. I do NOT think I have many paper’s b/c dad get’s them, but dad wants me to talk with the coop about some tax form. I forget the form # but dad will email it to me. There is something about a tax abatement that I get, but that is bookepping stuff, not that I really care b/c dad is handeling it.
Jim came out of the wood work with some cases. Haven’t heard from him in along time. YAY b/c the manageing partner said I will get 20% of the profit’s on each NEW case I bring in. Dad said he put that in the agreement, but I do NOT have time to read that agreement. Dad said he does so much for me that I really won’t have to find a guy to suport me as long as I work here. But I need a guy to MARRY me so that I can have kid’s who Grandma Leyeh will be able to make latkey’s for. YAY!!!
