[Reader Request: spELLEN]

I promised to do a special post on the mode of formatting and pattern of mechanics errors that we might call spELLEN.

The content that initially appeared as such post, on 7-7-12, has been moved to a regular page called An Orientation to Ellen's Spelling, Punctuation, and Use of Capital Letters. The page may be updated in the future.

Comments on the original post have been left here as-is.

  1. The real question though, is how many of us loyal 'rette and Ellenwatch readers find ourselves subconsciously using Ellenisms in everyday life. Or capitalizing oddly in personal or (GASP) professional e-mails.

Because I know I do. And its a bit of a problem.

  2. Yeah, I've FOOEY!-ed once or twice in real life, and one of my co-workers wanted to know what the "Just Say FOOEY! and move on" post-it over my desk was about.

I am right there with you TCFKAG, it has infiltrated my real world more than once...It brings me great joy to imagine that we infiltrate Ellen’s world too. It would be funny if she wonders about us as well.

I love my scary girl Francie picture above btw reminds me of children of the corn stalking Ellen
